For Earth Day 2020 Maria Popova reached out and asked me to be part of her tremendous yearly project, the Universe in Verse. We were going to create an immersive event on the steps of the NYPL celebrating Rachel Carson and her seminal Silent Spring, and I jumped at the chance. Due to Covid we pivoted and instead created a digital work for the Young People's Chorus with filmmaker Paul Lieber, based on these words by Rachel Carson.
