Making Music In - And About - Pandemic Isolation

Most of us have experienced some sense of isolation during the pandemic, and that shared hardship inspired two New York based artists to create an album.

Paola Prestini, a composer and co-founder of National Sawdust, collaborated with her longtime friend Magos Herrera, a Jazz singer and songwriter, for the album Con Alma. The inspiration, they said, was the isolation caused by the pandemic — Prestini spoke from her Brooklyn apartment and Herrera has been in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, since the Spring.
